Au Revoir Canberra

Twas the night before departure and all through the house not a creature was stirring not even a....... did you get Panadol or did I? What about Malaria tabs? Altitude tabs? or maybe even some.......general antibiotics?

Who would have thought that the final touches would be so much effort and cost so much- The interesting development is that soap and tooth paste may not be that easy to come by and are preferred trading options to US dollars.

As final touches go, everything went smoothly- we revisited our storage unit and played some tetris, packed and re-packed our bags falling well under the 22 kilogram limit and finished the day with a visit to KMART.

Looking forward to our arrival in Sydney and the final farewells before we leave for good.

Farewell Metropolitan

As the time draws closer to our departure another milestone has come and gone. On Saturday we vacated out apartment in the city which was suprisingly difficult. This was my home for over 2 years and our home for over 16 months.

As many of you are aware the apartment was the embodiment of our personalities as the landlord provided us with free range to decorate the place. The location itself suited our lifestyles perfectly and provided us with the option of walking to work which was such a luxury. Not sure what suburb we will end up in when we get back- this one will be very hard to beat and not just because of the memories.

Special shout out to Bone and Lachie for helping
Sahra and I with the move, not sure what we would have done without the assistance. Also a special thanks to Joel and Bron for letting us stay with them until we depart.

Final Countdown

Packing up our worldly possessions in preparation for our departure for Kenya on 1 February. It would be great to say things are going smoothly but when your planning a wedding at the same time things are bound to get stressful.

The countdown of days left at work has started, vaccinations are almost complete, budgets have been checked and re-checked and the all important list of things to do has more ticks than yesterday. All in all I think wer'e prepared for the adventure that lays ahead.........
